Collect Data to iPad and iOS Devices via Ad-Hoc using WiSnap Wifi RS-232 Serial Module

This video demonstrates how to use the Wisnap Setup Plus app to connect a WiSnap in Ad-Hoc mode and collect data from a serial device on the iPad. Open WiFi Settings so you can view the WiSnap ad hoc network when active. Turn on the WiSnap and the Ad-Hoc network will show up after a few seconds. Once the network appears tap on it to select it as the active WiFi connection. NOTE: iOS takes about 30 seconds to fully connect to an ad-hoc network and just because the check shows next to the Ad-Hoc network name this does not mean that the iPad is connected to the network. Making an enterprise network connection to the iPad is much faster than an Ad-hoc connection. You will know the network is fully connected when you see the WiFi icon displayed in the iPad status bar at the top. Once the icon appears, launch WiSnap Setup Plus app and tap WiSnap Module connection type to connect to the WiSnap. In this example we are using a LaserChamp II scanner with a Serial Cable Connection to the WiSnap to collect barcode scanner data to the iPad. As scans are made the data should immediately show up in WiSnap Setup Plus app. You can connect virtually any RS-232 serial device and collect serial data to your iOS device using WiSnap Setup and other apps from Serialio.com For more information please visit serialio.com or contact us at (805) 964-8883
